The Port of Nantes in 1900

This application is the result of a research and development program launched at the initiative of Château des ducs de Bretagne, in collaboration with the François Viète center (University of Nantes) and IRCyNN laboratory (Ecole Centrale de Nantes) and the technical collaboration of Dev o cité.

Three multitouch tactile tables placed in front of the model of the port of Nantes in 1900 allow access to a knowledge base containing more than 130 points of interest and 350 photos from the period.

The points selected by the user are highlighted on the model by video projectors.

This device allows better observation of the collection item (the model) with a discovery of the territory in the same period (the Port of Nantes in 1900).

The knowledge base will be enhanced as the museum team’s research work advances. A digital collection of photos and graphic documents will be programmed during the database upload.
